Position: System Administrator
CIC is currently looking for a System Administrator. Based in Redwood Shores, CA
the successful candidate will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation,
configuration, operation, and maintenance of our applications on EC2.
Responsibilities
- Work with our Engineering team to satisfy the deployment of our technology on EC2
- Responsible for deploying our applications on EC2
- Manage and monitor our application on EC2 using Cloud management tools including
RightScale
- Participate in security reviews and monitoring
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
- Research and recommend innovative practices and tools for web deployments
Qualifications
- 3 + years’ experience managing and deploying on Linux
- Experience on Cloud infrastructure including EC2
- Experience with Cloud management tools (i.e. RightScale, Opscode)
- Experience with system and network management (i.e. HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli)
- 2 + years’ experience J2EE deployment environment
- General knowledge of network fundamentals including diagnostics with *NIX tools
- General knowledge of system services, Sendmail, SMTP, FTP, SSH and DNS
- Familiar with application servers, such as JBoss and WebSphere
- Hands on experience in performance tuning
- Knowledge of relational database technologies with advanced capabilities in at least
one industry grade relational database system
- Windows knowledge a plus
- Experience with Nagios a plus
- Knowledge of Java language a big plus
