InkSnap is a notetaking application that allows you to write anywhere on the display and have the ink scaled down to a more convenient size called Snaps. Snaps are placed in uniform rows greatly saving display space. It lets you capture handwritten notes in ink, but in a smaller size.

If you have tried the trial version of InkSnap and wish to keep existing notes, install the full version of InkSnap over the trial version.
Installing from a PC
- Locate the InkSnap.PRC file and double click on it. The Palm Install Tool should open. If the Palm Install Tool did not open, click on the Windows Start button. Select Programs, Palm Desktop, and Palm Install Tool.
- Select the user name that corresponds to your Palm organizer in the user drop down list.
- If the Palm Install Tool opened when you double-clicked on the InkSnap.prc file, you should have the InkSnap.prc file listed under File Name. If the PRC file is not listed, either
- Drag-and-drop the InkSnap.prc file into the Install Tool File Name list. Or,
- Click the Add button to open the Open dialog. Locate and select the InkSnap.prc file. Click the Open button to return to the Install Tool dialog.
- Perform a local HotSync® operation to install InkSnap.
For alternative installation instructions, refer to your Palm organizer handbook under "Installing Applications Using a Windows Computer."
Installing from a Mac
- Locate the InkSnap.PRC file on your Mac.
- Select Install Handheld Files from the HotSync menu.
- Click Add To List and select InkSnap.prc.
- Click Add File and InkSnap displays on your Install Handheld Files list.
- Exit the Install Handheld Files dialog box.
- Make sure the HotSync Manager is running.
- Press the HotSync button on your Palm cradle to start HotSync. Refer to your Palm organizer Handbook for further information on HotSync.
- Reset your Palm organizer when instructed.

To remove InkSnap from your Palm organizer:
- Tap the Applications icon
- Tap the Menu icon
- Tap Delete
- Select InkSnap
- Tap Delete

- Tap the Applications icon.
- Tap the InkSnap icon
- Tap the Page icon to the left of "Welcome".
- Start writing on the screen
After you pause from writing, the ink will snap to the page. Each additional ink snap you write will snap to the end of the last snap.
Tap New at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the name or the number of the page title you wish to change.
- Tap Rename.
- Edit the page title.
Displaying pages in a specific Category
Select a Category from the top right of the screen.
- Tap the name or the number of the page you wish to delete.
- Tap Tap Delete.
- Tap OK to confirm the deletion.
- Tap Menu while viewing the list of page titles.
- Tap Delete All Records.
- Tap Yes to confirm the deletion.
Deleting all pages in a specific category
- Select the Category you wish to delete all pages from in the upper right corner of the InkSnap page list.
- Tap Menu.
- Tap Delete All Records in Category.
- Tap Yes to confirm the deletion.
Changing the order of the pages
- Tap the name or the number of the page you wish to reorder.
- When the number is highlighted, drag it to the new location.
Automatically sort the names of the pages
- Tap Menu.
- Tap Preferences.
- Set Sort By to Alphabetic.
Assigning a Category to a page
- Tap Unfiled at the top right corner to display a list of categories.
- Select an existing category or Edit Categories to create a new one.
Icons on the bottom of the screen
Carriage Return Inserts a carriage return.
Backspace Erases InkSnap object to the left of the cursor.
New Page Creates a new InkSnap page.
Erase Page Erases the entire page.
Zoom Zoom out to view the entire page.
Changing the number of lines of an InkSnap page
You can only change the number of lines for new pages. The number of lines for existing pages with data cannot be changed.
Creating a new page while still in an existing page
Tap the New Page icon or Tap Done, then New or Tap Menu, New Page.

- Tap the space between the two ink snaps where you wish to insert a new ink snap. The triangle indicating the current location will be displayed.
- Write a new ink snap and it will be inserted at the location of the triangle.
- Tap the space after the ink snap to be removed.
- Tap on the Backspace icon from the Tool bar at the bottom of the screen. The ink snap to the left will be erased.
Erasing the entire page of ink snaps
Tap the Erase icon to erase the entire page.
Starting a new row of ink snaps
Tap the Carriage Return icon to insert a new line.
Viewing the entire page of ink snaps
- Tap the Zoom icon to zoom out and view the entire page.
- Tap on the screen area or Menu, Options and Zoom In to return to the page.
You can only copy or cut an entire page and paste it into a new or existing page. However, if you paste it into an existing page, you will be asked if you wish to overwrite the page.
Inserting a space between the ink snaps
You cannot insert a space between snaps.
The snaps cannot be printed.
