Validation
Only signatures that can be validated are considered viable electronic signatures. Use this check to insure that the drawing and the signatures have not been altered since the signing.
Signatures are automatically bound to the drawing once signed. Make sure all changes to the drawing have been made prior to the entry of the first signature. This includes the addition of all signature blocks. The exception would be if changes are made to layers of the drawing that are not attached to any signatures.
To validate a single signature, select the signature block, right-click and select Validate Signature from the menu.
To validate all signatures in a drawing, select Validate All Signatures from the Sign-it menu. A summary of the signature(s) in the drawing will be provided as shown below.
Signature Information Original Original Signature Invalid Signature was invalidated Re-sign Signature was re-signed without changes. This may occur if a different person signed the drawing, the reason or location was changed, or the method of signing was changed. However, the drawing or layers attached to the signature were not changed. Re-sign Altered Signature was re-signed after changes Not Signed Signature block is not signed Erased Signature was erased. Erased signatures are shown in the validation results. If you do not wish to display them, uncheck the box for Show Erased Signatures.
An invalidation symbol will appear over a signature if an alteration has been made to the drawing. This indicator represents an "Invalid Signature". To obtain a valid signature requires that the original signatory re-sign the drawing.
